One of the region’s most modern logistics facilities is being built in the Malsfeld-Ostheim industrial park, right off the A7. Covering an area of approximately 35,000 m², the facility will feature a high-bay warehouse visible from afar, with capacity for about 16,500 products.
The official groundbreaking ceremony has now marked the start of the project. In the future, this facility will supply approximately 500 EDEKA Hessenring stores in northern and central Hesse as well as western Thuringia with dry goods—serving more than 4 million people. The new logistics complex includes modern OPM and AIO storage systems, CPS and HRL areas in a silo design, as well as a mezzanine level with break rooms, a cafeteria, and office and technical spaces.
Our team supported the project through Service Phase 5 and have now handed it over to the general contractor. Completion of this significant investment for the company and the region is scheduled in about three years. In addition, approximately 200 new jobs will be created.
