Rohde & Schwarz Messgerätebau GmbH planned to expand production at its Memmingen site. A production building for the manufacture of electronic components was constructed adjacent to the existing site. The three production levels include large cleanroom areas. With its office, exhibition, and conference spaces, the five-story front building offers a modern, functional environment for employees and visitors.
As a defining element, the front building frames the new main entrance and clearly delineates the southern boundary of the factory grounds. The dynamically sloped front accentuates the street-facing facade and continues the progressive, corporate-identity-compliant architectural language in the tradition of the company’s buildings constructed both nationally and internationally.
The production wing echoes the horizontal structure and materiality of the front building. The façade concept employs a layered arrangement of varying surfaces, materials, and color tones.
