Transformation of Production Processes
The ACTIVE construction project will expand the existing production complex on the Pfieffewiesen site. Our teams from the fields of architecture, engineering, factory and logistics are working together on this highly challenging task. On 15 October 2024, a significant step towards future-oriented, fully automated production was celebrated. In the factory, designing, operating, monitoring and improving production processes is the new day-to-day business of the skilled workers and technicians.
The B. Braun ACTIVE construction project creates a state-of-the-art, digitally networked production environment. Driverless transport systems, innovative storage systems, robotics and intelligent control technologies ensure an efficient infrastructure and optimised processes. The automated production lines - from injection moulding to assembly and packaging - produce medical products of the highest quality in three-shift operation.
The official opening of the ACTIVE plant expansion is planned for mid-2025. The majority of the machinery will then be installed and the ambitious project will reach another important milestone.
