The logistics production supply processes were also analyzed as part of an extensive modernization, expansion and renovation project at B. Braun Melsungen AG in Berlin. Focusing on possible approaches to improvement, as well as safeguarding future requirements, one of the questions to be dealt with was whether it is possible to use driverless transport systems (AGVs). A simulation was used to evaluate possible routes, points of conflict with oncoming traffic, and the number of necessary vehicles and capacitive borderline situations.
