The ensemble from the 1970s had to be thoroughly renovated. The building services needed renewing, and energetic renovations to the façades were mandatory. This included, among other things, updates to the sciences, library, lunch hall, and administration. For the nearby Siegburg primary school, replacement buildings had to be constructed due to structural defects, realized on the site of Marie-Durand School as an extension of about 600 m². Thus a small school campus was created, which after four construction phases could be fully reoccupied in 2014 and today serves as the home of the school for children from the first grade onward.
